Trotton Estate Vineyards
Home to the award winning Brilliant Bacchus and Spectacular Sparkling
When keen polo players Robin & Carolyn Butler retired themselves and their beloved ponies from playing they soon found themselves with empty fields and a bit more time on their hands. They soon realised that their beautiful south facing slopes on a belt of green sand meant they were the ideal conditions for growing grapes.
In 2013 the decision was made and they planted their first Trotton Estate Vineyard with Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay. Plantings of Bacchus and Pinot Gris (Grigio) soon followed and in 2015 their first still wine was produced which immediately won Silver Medal at the Sommeliers Wine Awards in 2017. 2018 saw the launch of their first Spectacular Sparkling made in the traditional method, the same method used for centuries in Champagne - the reviews have been....Spectacular, hence the name!
Picnics by Harbour Hampers are also available to book, simply add them to your cart when purchasing your Trotton Estate Vineyard tour tickets. Handmade to order the hampers are delivered freshly on the day and include a delicious three course picnic to be enjoyed in the vineyard at leisure.
