First planted in 1952 by visionary wine lover Major General Sir Guy Salisbury-Jones, Hambledon Vineyard is the oldest commercial vineyard in England. Boasting over 200 acres under vine, Hambledon Vineyard is one of the shining stars of English Wine and Hampshire Vineyards with a long and fascinating history.
Since 2011 the on-site, state-of-the-art winery has been making minimal intervention, award-winning wines under the watchful eye of Hervé Jestin, one of the world's best winemakers.
With everything onsite, Hambledon Vineyard offers a unique tour and tasting experience as we follow the process from grape to award-winning glass of English Fizz. This tour offers a fascinating look at how and where the Trotton Estate Vineyards Spectacular Sparkling is made.
Tours are available to book on Saturdays at 2.30pm as an add on to the Trotton Estate Vineyards Tour throughout May, June, July, August and September. Tours last between 90 - 120 minutes.
The tour will start in Hambledon's first vineyard then onto the cellar before ending up at the state of the art winery to see where the Trotton Estate Vineyards Spectacular Sparkling is made. We’ll guide you through the vineyard history, the grapes grown and the wine making processes practised.
